Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in hotel or business administration preferred
  • Two or more years experience in hotel catering or convention services
  • Knowledge of Delphi or the Envision sales and catering system
  • Basic understanding of audio-visual equipment preferred
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic vision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work under time constraints and meet established deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hotel or business administration preferred
  • Two or more years experience in hotel catering or convention services at a convention-focused or resort property or related hospitality experience
  • Knowledge of Delphi or the Envision sales and catering systems
  • Basic understanding of audio-visual equipment preferred
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic vision
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with diverse groups and solve complex problems
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Ability to multitask and work independently

Job Duties

  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure event specifications are communicated and executed for successful meetings consistent with hotel and company standards
  • Create and oversee event orders, resumes, invoices, event diagrams, fire marshal approvals, and other necessary documentation
  • Monitor and manage room blocks according to contract using group history reports and client information to maximize hotel revenue, adjusting as needed in partnership with sales, revenue, and group reservations
  • Review sales contracts and important information such as room block cutoffs and special concessions, validating details with clients after sales turnover
  • Accurately forecast group rooms and food and beverage revenues for assigned groups
  • Implement and share all information and resumes related to group business booked by sales managers to meet client needs
  • Arrange and disseminate all details for group clients including meeting set-up, food and beverage, guest room requirements, audio/visual needs, billing, outside activities, VIPs, special requests, and any other client or hotel needs
  • Coordinate arrangements through proper hotel departments following system reports and property procedures
  • Lead and participate in pre- and post-convention meetings
  • Participate in site visits and coordinate pre-planning meetings for upcoming group business
  • Provide feedback to all departments on client assessments of hotel performance
  • Perform month-end commentary and complete required reports
  • Approach all guest and employee encounters with attentiveness, friendliness, courtesy, and a service-oriented manner
  • Ensure timely communication of changes to impacted departments and operations leaders
  • Attend daily, weekly, and monthly meetings and other functions as required by management
  • Perform other duties as requested by hotel leadership
