Job Requirements

  • at least 3 to 5 years of event planning or hospitality experience
  • previous customer service, event planning and hospitality experience preferably in a hotel or large venue
  • proficiency using a CRM system and diagramming software
  • strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • knowledge of Zoom and Microsoft Teams are a plus
  • become familiar with all assigned events and review contracts
  • ensure accuracy and timely delivery of proposals and banquet event orders
  • communicate clearly with other departments regarding event details
  • excellent presentation, organizational, negotiation and communication skills
  • ability to upsell and coordinate additional services
  • adaptable and professional demeanor
  • knowledge of DC Metro business community
  • conduct site visits and maintain building familiarity
  • prepare customized menu proposals with Executive Chef
  • ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while delivering quality service

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of event planning or hospitality experience
  • customer service experience in hospitality or large venue
  • proficiency with CRM systems and diagramming software
  • strong computer skills with MS Office proficiency

Job Duties

  • plan and manage events within client's budget and timeline
  • collaborate and manage relationships with sales, vendors, clients and team members
  • create detailed banquet event orders outlining setup, food, beverage, audio-visual production, IT and security needs
  • review billing and conduct post event analysis
  • conduct site visits and attend client meetings both in-person and virtual
  • be onsite for event setup, execution and teardown
  • work collaboratively with sales and event planning teams and other departments
  • handle special projects as assigned
