Job Requirements

  • bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of hotel event planning experience
  • proficient computer skills

  • knowledge of contracts

  • knowledge of hotel operations
  • ability to respond quickly to requests
  • experience with rooming and VIP lists

  • menu creation experience
  • completed PSS training preferred

Job Qualifications

  • minimum of 1-3 years of hotel event planning experience
  • bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of hotel and/or food and beverage experience preferred
  • experienced in general computer knowledge and programs
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to communicate effectively with public and team members
  • professional appearance and confidence
  • extremely detail oriented and organized
  • strong time management and multitasking skills
  • understanding of negotiation and contracts
  • comprehensive knowledge of hotel operational departments
  • positive leadership characteristics
  • knowledge of meeting room setups and sleeping room configurations
  • ability to respond promptly to meeting planner requests
  • experience creating and managing rooming and VIP lists
  • skills in managing meeting space to maximize revenue
  • knowledge of revenue management principles
  • ability to pre-check room setups prior to group arrival
  • experience with event vendors and outside planners
  • experience in client re-solicitation to capture future business
  • expertise in upselling techniques and rooms management strategies
  • experience creating and writing menus
  • preferred completion of PSS or equivalent training

Job Duties

  • administer sales agreements including food, beverage, and audio visual needs
  • manage room blocks and pick up
  • coordinate and manage meeting spaces
  • oversee billing process and final review
  • serve as on-site contact during event execution
  • provide real-time problem solving and suggest alternatives
  • develop and maintain relationships with meeting planners to maximize revenue through upselling
