Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1-3 years hotel event planning experience
- Bachelor’s degree or 2 years hotel or food & beverage experience preferred
- Experience with general computer knowledge and software programs
- Desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
- Refined verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Professional appearance and confidence
- Extremely detail oriented and organized
- Ability to handle fast paced environment
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
- Understanding of contract negotiation and interpretation
- Comprehensive knowledge of hotel departments including guest services, reservations, housekeeping, audio visual, banquets, accounting, restaurants and engineering
- Demonstrated positive leadership qualities
- Knowledge of meeting room and sleeping room setups
- Ability to respond promptly to Meeting Planners
- Ability to create, review and revise rooming and VIP lists
- Manage meeting space to maximize revenue potential
- Maintain price integrity using revenue management
- Pre-check room setups prior to group arrival
- Relay accurate forecast information
- Interact with outside planners and vendors
- Manage and re-solicit accounts to capture future business
- Responsible for increasing revenue per attendee through upselling, room strategies and creative methods
- Experience creating and writing menus
- PSS or equivalent training preferred
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Administering the Sales agreement and detailing all food, beverage and audio/visual needs
- Managing room blocks and pick-up
- Managing meeting spaces and overseeing the billing instructions/process and final review
- Serving as the on-site contact to ensure smooth execution of all events
- Acting as liaison between Meeting Planners and hotel staff to provide direction and organization during event execution
- Proactively serving on-site group and catering guests
- Demonstrating effective up-selling to maximize revenue and developing relationships with meeting planners
