Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 2 years experience in event management or related area
  • Or 2-year degree from accredited university in hospitality or business
  • At least 1 year experience in event management
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage event details
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work full time at the Westin Pittsburgh location

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 2 years experience in event management or related professional area
  • Or 2-year degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • At least 1 year experience in event management or related professional area
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience in coordinating logistics for events
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Customer service excellence
  • Ability to handle customer complaints professionally
  • Knowledge of current event management trends
  • Skills in revenue forecasting and up-selling
  • Proficient in coordinating pre-event and post-event activities

Job Duties

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments, and customers
  • Manage event logistics and operations ensuring seamless event progression
  • Greet customers during events and hand off to operations team
  • Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
  • Act as liaison between field salesperson and customer throughout event process
  • Conduct pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups
  • Deliver excellent customer service and handle guest complaints
  • Lead event management teams and coordinate internal meetings
  • Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting
  • Up-sell products and services during event process
  • Review guest satisfaction results and provide feedback to employees
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for service improvement
  • Collaborate with property staff and customers to resolve operational challenges
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
