Job Requirements

- Prior experience in event planning in a hotel setting
- Experience with volume catering and meeting events
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to multi-task and handle stressful situations
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Reliable and ethical work ethic

Job Duties
- Ensure events progress seamlessly by following established procedures and collaborating with other employees
- Handle local catering and group sales bookings
- Plan menus, set agendas, and coordinate hotel meeting services and amenities
- Prepare diagrams and meeting space designs to maximize event execution and space
- Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with customers prior to final processing
- Manage group meeting spaces and function room blocks for assigned groups
- Identify operational challenges and develop solutions by working with property staff and customers
- Integrate current trends in event management and event design
- Partner with banquet and food and beverage operations teams to execute events
- Act as liaison between field salesperson and customers throughout the event process
- Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process
- Solicit feedback from property departments to improve event planning experience
- Develop strong community and public relations through participation in tradeshows and client events
- Participate in sales calls with Sales and Marketing teams to acquire or close new business
- Forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue
- Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting for customer groups and events
- Support General Manager by coordinating crisis communications
- Work with Human Resources, Engineering and Loss Prevention to ensure compliance with regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs
- Execute and support Service and Brand Standards
- Provide exemplary customer service to ensure satisfaction before, during and after events
