Job Requirements

  • Must have two years hotel catering sales experience
  • Must have strong English skills both oral and written
  • Must demonstrate strong presentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • Must have ability to make timely and effective decisions
  • Must be able to prioritize, organize, and make good judgments
  • Must maintain good team member relations
  • Must develop and maintain effective guest relations
  • Must be able to work long hours, five to six days a week
  • Must have knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Must have computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with proof of auto liability insurance
  • Must be dependable

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Coordinate all group and banquet business as developed by sales manager or director of sales
  • Follow up on all signed or contracted business
  • Determine and coordinate all event planning needs
  • Review and update banquet menus, packages, and upgrades regularly
  • Create detailed banquet event orders including space, times, equipment, menus, theme, décor, and staffing
  • Communicate upcoming deadlines to clients such as cutoff dates and final guarantees
  • Prepare appropriate paperwork and coordinate with hotel departments to resolve issues and ensure quality delivery
  • Effectively communicate with various hotel departments to ensure event execution meets client expectations
  • Build strong professional customer relationships to encourage event rebooking
  • Maximize revenue through upselling and direct sales effectiveness
  • Solicit new and existing accounts through proactive sales efforts including calls, site inspections, and presentations
  • Provide overall direction and coordination for events involving restaurant and banquet services
  • Attend and assist with menu tastings and pre/post-conference meetings with clients
  • Communicate relevant information to chefs, banquet staff, and other departments in a timely manner
  • Greet and formally introduce on-site event hosts to banquet captains
  • Complete quarterly sales objectives and ongoing action plans
  • Conduct hotel site inspections and customer presentations
  • Meet and exceed individual productivity goals
  • Respond promptly to sales-related inquiries and correspondence
  • Conduct weekly proactive sales calls and attend trade shows and networking functions
  • Utilize the hotel's sales system according to Pacifica standards
