Job Requirements

  • Two years hotel catering sales experience
  • Must have strong English skills both oral and written
  • Strong presentation, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to make timely and effective decisions
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments
  • Ability to maintain good team member relations
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective guest relations
  • Ability to work long hours, 5 to 6 days a week
  • Basic accounting procedures knowledge
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s license with proof of auto liability insurance
  • Dependable

Job Duties

  • Coordinate all group and banquet business developed by sales manager or director of sales
  • Follow up on all signed and contracted business
  • Determine and coordinate all event planning needs
  • Review and update banquet menus, packages, and upgrades regularly
  • Create detailed banquet event orders with client specifications
  • Communicate upcoming deadlines to clients
  • Receive and post deposits and final payments
  • Prepare paperwork including banquet event orders
  • Coordinate with hotel departments to resolve issues and ensure quality delivery
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to meet event expectations
  • Rebook groups and event business by building strong customer relations
  • Maximize selling time through upsell opportunities and retaining customers
  • Solicit new and existing accounts through sales efforts, site inspections, and presentations
  • Provide direction and coordination for events with restaurant and banquet staff
  • Attend menu tastings and client meetings
  • Greet onsite contacts and hand off to banquet captain
  • Complete sales objectives and action plans
  • Conduct hotel site inspections and customer presentations
  • Respond promptly to sales inquiries and correspondence
  • Conduct proactive sales calls via telephone, inspections, trade shows, and networking
  • Utilize hotel sales system per standards
