The Senior Event Planner position is with a reputable institution committed to fostering community engagement and student career development. Based in Las Cruces, this full-time, exempt role falls under the Student Success and Enrollment Management division, specifically within the Corporate Relations and Career Events department. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Three years of relevant experience
- An Associate's degree with five years of related experience or seven years of related experience may substitute for the degree
- Strong knowledge of meeting and event planning principles
- Knowledge of budgeting, accounting, and cost control
- Familiarity with public institution purchasing procedures
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Ability to negotiate and manage contracts
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in event planning, coordination, or related administrative functions preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, employers, and community partners
Job Duties
- Designs, establishes, and oversees logistical and administrative support for career and community engagement events
- Plans, coordinates, and executes large-scale career fairs and employer engagement programs
- Manages event budgets and ensures adherence to budgetary constraints
- Coordinates scheduling, registration, vendor relations, and participant communications
- Directs on-site event setup, technical requirements, food service, and facility coordination
- Researches and resolves operational issues and serves as liaison with stakeholders
- Develops and maintains event documentation, tracking systems, and financial reports
