Job Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in event planning
  • Associate’s degree or similar credential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage time and meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform administrative duties such as preparing documents, reports and coordinating meetings
  • Experience with event planning software such as Qualtrics and WebEx
  • Willingness to work in Washington DC location

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience in event planning
  • Associate’s degree or similar credential
  • Ability to manage time and events effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience preparing, editing, and finalizing correspondence, documents, reports and briefings
  • Skilled in coordinating briefings, conferences, teleconferences, and meetings
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Establishing project plans with milestones for assigned events
  • Providing weekly or bi-weekly updates to events team including researched locations and cost comparison spreadsheets
  • Preparing written recommendations outlining pros and cons of event options
  • Using Qualtrics, WebEx, and Windows operating systems for event coordination
  • Leading or working on teams as necessary
  • Inspecting venues and determining site specifications
  • Developing room diagrams and coordinating logistics for staging and equipment
  • Identifying audiovisual equipment needs and working with vendors on setup and strike schedules
  • Determining food and beverage requirements, selecting menus, and establishing service times
  • Assisting with approval processes for multi-purpose room use
  • Coordinating talking points and support for Senior Leadership participation
  • Performing additional event management duties as assigned
