The City of Kansas City Missouri (KCMO) operates a dynamic and robust Conventions and Entertainment Facilities Department dedicated to hosting a broad spectrum of events and functions that contribute significantly to the cultural and economic vitality of the city. Job Requirements
- an accredited bachelor s degree and 1 year of experience of event set up event coordination and or arena convention management
- or high school graduation and 5 years of experience in event set up event coordination and or arena convention management
- may be required to possess a valid state issued driver s license in accordance with the city of kcmo policies
- preference is given to applicants that have an accredited bachelor s degree in business administration liberal arts recreation public administration or one of the social sciences and one 1 year related experience in arena management convention center management or tradeshow management
- a minimum of one 1 year supervisory experience is preferred

Job Duties
- organize stage and coordinate meetings lectures stage shows sporting events concerts exhibitions conventions and theatrical productions within the city s multipurpose facilities
- manage and supervise event operations including setup staffing and custodial crews in assigned areas
- anticipate client needs and requirements by exercising sound independent judgment and proactive planning
- interact effectively with event patrons clients and departmental staff to ensure successful event execution
- maintain and promote a positive public image of the convention and entertainment facilities department
- perform duties under general direction with work evaluated through activity reports direct observation conferences and results achieved
