Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum three years combination of experience in event operations, audiovisual, event production, or event planning
  • Minimum three years direct supervision experience
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends
  • Availability to provide 24/7 emergency on-call response within 30 minutes
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to start date

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum three years experience in event operations, audiovisual, event production, or event planning
  • Minimum three years direct supervision experience of student or full-time staff
  • Experience managing budgets and equipment inventories
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and provide 24/7 emergency on-call support
  • Preferred master’s degree
  • Experience with AV equipment and higher education event environments
  • Experience supervising full-time staff
  • Skilled in strategic planning and departmental collaboration

Job Duties

  • Manage operations and staffing budgets including projecting needs and monitoring spending
  • Approve purchases and recommend capital projects and equipment replacement schedules
  • Oversee audiovisual and equipment setups in multiple indoor and outdoor venues
  • Develop, propose, and implement policies and procedures for event operations
  • Ensure compliance with departmental and university policies including safety and risk management
  • Coordinate setup, operation, and strike of event equipment and vendor rentals
  • Lead pre-production and weekly scheduling meetings with staff and campus partners
  • Conduct daily venue walkthroughs to verify proper equipment arrangement
  • Provide on-site event assistance for large-scale campus events
  • Manage maintenance work order system and equipment inventory
  • Administer equipment replacement programs and enhancements
  • Supervise full-time staff and graduate assistants, including hiring, training, evaluation, and daily oversight
  • Oversee 60-70 student staff indirect supervision
  • Coordinate equipment rental needs and process related invoices
  • Provide on-call response for emergencies within 30 minutes
