Job Requirements
- Four years of food and beverage experience in banquet and entertainment operations
- two years prior supervisory experience
- ability to bend, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat, and grasp as needed
- capability to work in a fast-paced environment
- excellent written, verbal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to stand for full eight-hour shifts or longer
- ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Job Qualifications
- Four years of food and beverage experience in banquet and entertainment operations
- two years of prior supervisory experience
- excellent written, verbal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
- proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Cater Ease, and C-Vent
- ability to manage diverse clientele and high-volume events
- demonstrated leadership capabilities in training and staff management
Job Duties
- Proactively take charge of event management tasks and maintain meticulous attention to detail even under pressure
- manage day-of operations for a variety of events including corporate, social, private, conventions, weddings, special events, trade shows, and other functions
- visit and court potential clients to increase space utilization awareness
- collaborate with the Event Sales Manager to organize and maintain scheduling and maintenance of function spaces
- exercise fiscal responsibility to exceed quarterly sales targets while managing labor, supply, and rental costs
- interview, hire, train, resolve problems, and manage disciplinary actions while maintaining confidentiality
- coordinate with clients and internal departments to ascertain event needs such as room setups, housekeeping, security, and audiovisual requirements
- meet with Food & Beverage and marketing staff to review room availability, menu planning, pricing, setup structure, and staffing needs
- assist in menu development, promotional marketing plans, and packages
- supervise all event functions independently
- manage front-of-house setup including skirting, table tops, beverage service, customer service, function breakdown, and proficient use of MICROS POS and money handling
- oversee front-of-house staffing, linen, equipment maintenance, and inventory
- manage station assignments covering large areas, high volume, diverse clientele, and challenging conditions
- conduct post-event room inspections and update files to close out events
- maintain proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Excel, Word, Cater Ease, and C-Vent
- promote outstanding guest relations and trust among the team
- perform all other duties as assigned
