Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage or related professional area
- Proven ability to manage banquet operations
- Strong communication skills
- Must be available to work full-time onsite
- Ability to lead, motivate and delegate to staff
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
- Experience in managing inventory and event supplies
- Competency in handling guest feedback and conflict resolution

Job Duties
- Direct and motivate banquet team while assisting in providing high-quality service
- Monitor and control financial and administrative responsibilities including asset protection
- Communicate clearly and concisely with all stakeholders involved in the event
- Identify training opportunities and plan strategies to achieve departmental goals
- Project supply needs for banquet operations such as tables, chairs, props, and meeting sets
- Adhere to laws, standards, policies, and procedures related to events
- Maintain sanitation levels and manage departmental inventories and equipment
- Schedule event services staff to meet service standards and maximize profits
- Develop lasting relationships with clients to retain business and encourage growth
- Set goals, delegate tasks, and conduct monthly department meetings
- Apply food and wine knowledge with focus on current event trends
- Act as liaison between banquet and kitchen staff
- Lead shifts and actively participate in servicing events
- Attend pre-event meetings to understand group needs
- Conduct function room inspections to ensure proper setup
- Coordinate routine maintenance of event facilities
- Resolve issues or suggest alternatives to arrangements
- Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings
- Serve as liaison between banquet, event planning, and technology teams
- Verify function rooms meet event documentation and customer requirements
- Set example for guest relations and interact with guests for feedback
- Respond to guest complaints and encourage excellent customer service by employees
- Verify employee understanding of expectations and strive to improve service performance
- Emphasize guest satisfaction in departmental meetings
- Review guest feedback with employees
- Communicate and implement departmental emergency and safety procedures
- Observe service behaviors, provide feedback, and lead staff discussions
- Participate in corrective action plans and performance appraisals
- Maintain open and collaborative associate relationships
- Follow disciplinary procedures and support peer review process
- Delegate tasks to meet event service standards and timing
