Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum 2 years experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
- ability to work full time on site at the Westin Pittsburgh
- strong leadership and communication skills
- knowledge of relevant laws related to event operations
- capability to manage financial and administrative duties
- commitment to upholding sanitation and safety standards in banquet services
- availability to participate in departmental meetings and training
- physical ability to lead and participate in event services
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Directs and motivates banquet services team to deliver high quality events
- monitors and controls financial and administrative responsibilities including asset protection
- provides clear and concise communication to stakeholders
- identifies training opportunities and plans strategies to meet goals
- manages banquet operations including supply needs projection and inventory management
- adheres to sanitation and safety standards
- schedules event services staff to meet forecast and maximize profits
- develops lasting client relationships to retain and grow business
- leads departmental meetings to set goals and delegate tasks
- acts as liaison between banquet and kitchen staff
- actively participates in event service delivery
- sets positive example for guest relations
- obtains and addresses guest feedback
- responds to guest problems and complaints
- empowers employees to deliver excellent service
- reviews and emphasizes guest satisfaction through meetings and feedback
- communicates and enforces emergency and safety procedures
- observes and provides feedback on employee performance
- leads staff discussions and participates in corrective action planning
- attends pertinent meetings and contributes to continuous improvement efforts
