Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum two years experience in event management, food and beverage, or related area
  • Strong knowledge of banquet operations and food service trends
  • Proven leadership abilities managing teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain sanitation and adhere to safety protocols
  • Experience coordinating with multiple departments and external clients
  • Capacity to manage scheduling and departmental inventory
  • Ability to handle guest complaints effectively
  • Willingness to participate in training and meetings regularly

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
  • Knowledge of banquet operations and event service standards
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Understanding of sanitation and safety regulations
  • Ability to coordinate multiple teams and manage inventory and supplies
  • Skilled at problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • Familiarity with financial and administrative control in event services
  • Proficient in customer service and guest relations

Job Duties

  • Direct and motivate team while personally assisting in providing high quality service based on requirements and standards
  • Monitor and control financial and administrative responsibilities including asset protection
  • Provide clear and concise communications to everyone having ownership in the success of the event
  • Identify training opportunities and plan a strategy to accomplish goals
  • Project supply needs for the department such as tables, chairs, banquet tables, meeting sets, and props
  • Apply knowledge of all relevant laws as they relate to an event
  • Manage departmental inventories and maintain equipment
  • Schedule Event Services staff to forecast and service standards while maximizing profits
  • Assist team in developing lasting relationships with groups to retain business and increase growth
  • Set goals and delegate tasks to improve departmental performance
  • Conduct monthly department meetings
  • Apply and broaden knowledge of food and wine pairings and cuisine with emphasis on current event trends
  • Act as liaison to kitchen staff
  • Lead shifts and actively participate in the servicing of events
  • Attend pre-event meetings to understand group needs
  • Establish consistent standards for meeting room sets and VIP meeting room sets
  • Conduct function room inspections prior to each function
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all event operation areas
  • Act as liaison between Banquets, Event Planning, Event Technology teams and group contact
  • Coordinate routine maintenance to verify a quality meeting facility
  • Resolve issues and suggest alternatives to previous arrangements
  • Set positive example for guest relations
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
  • Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
  • Communicate and execute departmental and property emergency procedures
  • Observe service behaviors of employees and provide feedback
  • Participate in development and implementation of corrective action plans
  • Conduct associate performance appraisals and provide feedback
  • Delegate tasks to verify room sets are on time and meet event service standards
