Job Requirements

- At least 2 years’ experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Ability to lead and motivate a team
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of laws and policies related to banquet services
- Capability to handle financial and administrative responsibilities
- Commitment to maintaining sanitation and safety standards
- Proficiency in managing inventories and equipment
- Availability to work full time in a hotel event management setting

Job Duties
- Directs and motivates banquet team while assisting in providing high quality service
- Monitors and controls financial and administrative responsibilities including asset protection
- Provides clear and concise communication to all stakeholders involved in event success
- Identifies training opportunities and plans strategies to accomplish departmental goals
- Projects and manages supply needs for the banquet department
- Adheres to laws, policies, and standards related to banquet operations
- Manages departmental inventories and maintains equipment
- Schedules and forecasts Event Services staff to meet service standards and maximize profits
- Develops relationships with groups to retain business and drive growth
- Leads banquet teams by setting goals, delegating tasks, and conducting meetings
- Applies knowledge of food and beverage trends and acts as liaison to kitchen staff
- Participates actively in servicing events and conducting pre-event meetings
- Inspects function rooms and ensures event specifications are met
- Maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Coordinates routine maintenance of meeting facilities
- Resolves event issues and suggests alternatives if necessary
- Verifies function rooms meet customer requirements
- Sets a positive example for guest relations and handles guest feedback and complaints
- Encourages and trains employees to provide excellent customer service
- Conducts human resources activities including performance appraisals and feedback
- Communicates and enforces safety and emergency procedures
- Facilitates open and collaborative relationships within the team
- Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action and improvement plans
