Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum age of 19 years old
- valid state driver's license
- willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays on an as-needed basis
- willingness to obtain TIPS certification within first three months of employment
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to lift up to 75 pounds using safe lifting methods
- ability to work in indoor and outdoor settings including various weather conditions
- ability to operate cash register
- experience in event operations preferred but not required
- ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug test

- experience in event planning, management, food and beverage service, or hospitality is helpful

Job Duties
- Follow Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium policies and standards
- serve as a positive representative of Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium with a professional and friendly attitude to guests
- handle customer or guest inquiries and provide excellent customer service
- obtain all necessary information prior to the event including event information sheet
- obtain and maintain all necessary equipment and supplies for the event
- set up and tear down tables, chairs, signage, tents, and any other event needs
- communicate team goals, timelines, and other expectations prior and during events
- lead team members, provide resources, answer questions, and step in when needed
- assist external vendors upon arrival and escort them as needed
- escort guests and vendors on Zoo vehicles
- maintain cleanliness of atmosphere, bar, and facilities
- assure bar arrangements are set up properly before events
- follow food handling and beverage procedures according to policies and state laws
- ensure proper set-up, tear down, and storage of equipment and supplies
- operate cash register, collect payment, and make change
- manage event logistics including venue setup and staffing
- assist bartending staff
- ensure proper handling and storage of liquor and garnishes
- ensure timely arrival of event staff including front gate security and bartenders
- assist clients, guests, and vendors with troubleshooting
- serve as main contact for event client
- monitor facility conditions and safety
- fill out appropriate forms and reports
- prepare building for next day opening and secure premises
- fill in as needed for successful event completion
- dismiss event staff post-event
- communicate with management
- supervise bartenders, event assistants, volunteers, and guests
