Job Requirements

  • Flexibility to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
  • Proven ability to execute event setups from banquet event orders and diagrams with minimal supervision
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and adherence to policies and procedures
  • Ability to lift, move, and transport tables, chairs, and equipment throughout the Garden
  • Reliable transportation and ability to report to work on a changing schedule
  • Ability to adapt quickly and respond effectively to changes
  • Standing and walking approximately 90 percent of the workday
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds or more
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and seasons

  • Ability to read and understand event diagrams and documentation
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with a strong eye for aesthetics

Job Duties

  • Set up and break down event spaces according to banquet event orders and diagrams
  • Accurately read event paperwork and adjust setups as needed
  • Ensure event spaces are visually appealing, functional, and guest-ready
  • Return all equipment to proper storage locations following events
  • Perform routine cleaning and upkeep of event equipment prior to storage
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of storage and service areas
  • Monitor event spaces for operational issues and report concerns to the supervisor
  • Provide on-site support to the Events Team to ensure seamless event execution
  • Communicate effectively with staff across multiple Garden departments
  • Deliver packages to Garden departments as needed
  • Adhere to all Garden and departmental policies, procedures, and standards
  • Interact professionally with Garden management, staff, and event stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to execute events successfully
