Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • minimum three years' experience in event management or convention services
  • ability to work extended, irregular hours including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • knowledge of facility management principles and safety requirements
  • strong supervisory and communication skills
  • proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Office suite
  • physical ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for extended periods during events
  • licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent experience
  • a minimum of three years experience in event management or convention services
  • knowledge of event coordination, facility management, and operational procedures
  • experience working with major professional sports teams preferred
  • familiarity with customer service and exhibitor services practices
  • proficiency with computer software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
  • ability to use AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator is a plus
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to handle stressful situations and exercise good judgment
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • supervisory experience
  • valid motor vehicle operator's license

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize, and manage assigned events at NRG Park
  • work under the guidance of the Houston Texans Lead Event Manager to support Texans Special Events
  • report to the Senior Event Manager for event-related duties and departmental functions
  • collaborate on executing Texans Special Events accurately and efficiently
  • prepare logistical documents and estimates for events
  • coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to ensure event requirements are met
  • be present onsite for Texans Special Events to oversee logistical setups and communications
  • report incidents and challenges to the Director of Event Services
  • complete accurate and timely event advances and documentation
  • staff and supervise medical personnel, crowd control, ushers, ticket takers, and police officers
  • research and recommend equipment and supplies for events
  • build event diagrams using AutoCAD
  • assist with managing large tenant events and coordinate front-of-house arrangements
  • liaise with marketing and security departments regarding media entry and safety reporting
  • communicate settlement and closeout documents to finance
  • participate in post-event meetings for feedback and improvements
  • maintain positive public relations with clients and staff
  • take directions and communicate effectively during emergencies
  • perform other duties as assigned
