Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • minimum three years event management or convention services experience preferred
  • experience working with major professional sports team preferred
  • knowledge of facility management and customer service practices
  • ability to handle conflict and make decisions during stressful situations
  • strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • ability to work extended and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to lift 25 pounds
  • licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • minimum three years experience in event management or convention services preferred
  • experience with major professional sports team preferred
  • knowledge of public assembly facility management
  • ability to handle conflict and work under pressure
  • strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • good written and verbal communication skills
  • computer skills including Outlook, Windows, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat
  • familiarity with AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator is a plus
  • licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize, and manage assigned events at NRG Park
  • work under guidance of Houston Texans Lead Event Manager to learn service delivery expectations
  • report to the Senior Event Manager for all event related duties
  • collaborate on Houston Texans Special Events for accurate execution
  • prepare estimates, logistical documents, and post event notes related to Texans events
  • coordinate staff including medical personnel, crowd control, ushers, and police officers
  • build event diagrams using AutoCAD software
  • coordinate outside service needs with contractors and vendors
  • assist with front-of-house arrangements including ADA accommodations
  • communicate with clients to obtain technical and event information
  • handle conflicts and act decisively during crisis situations
  • maintain positive public relations with artists, clients, exhibitors, and patrons
  • complete back-end documentation such as settlement closeouts and event folders
  • participate in post event meetings to enhance future events
  • report any incidents or challenges to the Director of Event Services
