Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- minimum three years event management or convention services experience preferred
- experience working with major professional sports team preferred
- knowledge of facility management and customer service practices
- ability to handle conflict and make decisions during stressful situations
- strong organizational and prioritization skills
- ability to work extended and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to lift 25 pounds
- licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- minimum three years experience in event management or convention services preferred
- experience with major professional sports team preferred
- knowledge of public assembly facility management
- ability to handle conflict and work under pressure
- strong leadership and supervisory skills
- good written and verbal communication skills
- computer skills including Outlook, Windows, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat
- familiarity with AutoCAD and Adobe Illustrator is a plus
- licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States
Job Duties
- Plan, organize, and manage assigned events at NRG Park
- work under guidance of Houston Texans Lead Event Manager to learn service delivery expectations
- report to the Senior Event Manager for all event related duties
- collaborate on Houston Texans Special Events for accurate execution
- prepare estimates, logistical documents, and post event notes related to Texans events
- coordinate staff including medical personnel, crowd control, ushers, and police officers
- build event diagrams using AutoCAD software
- coordinate outside service needs with contractors and vendors
- assist with front-of-house arrangements including ADA accommodations
- communicate with clients to obtain technical and event information
- handle conflicts and act decisively during crisis situations
- maintain positive public relations with artists, clients, exhibitors, and patrons
- complete back-end documentation such as settlement closeouts and event folders
- participate in post event meetings to enhance future events
- report any incidents or challenges to the Director of Event Services
