Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
  • minimum three years of event management or convention services experience preferred
  • experience with major professional sports team preferred
  • knowledge of facility management and event coordination
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • ability to work extended and irregular hours including weekends and holidays
  • capability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • proficient with Microsoft Office suite and standard office equipment
  • physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform setup tasks
  • licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • minimum three years' experience in event management or convention services in a hotel or multipurpose public assembly facility preferred
  • experience working with a major professional sports team preferred
  • knowledge of public assembly facility management customer service and exhibitor services practices
  • demonstrate knowledge in industry terminology facility capabilities operational procedures event coordination and services
  • demonstrate supervision training budgeting and administrative capabilities
  • ability to handle conflict make common sense decisions and act properly in stressful situations
  • knowledge of facility management building operations maintenance practices and safety requirements
  • ability to coordinate multiple simultaneous events
  • effective crowd management skills during crises
  • respond to inquiries complaints from customers and regulatory agencies
  • maintain effective working relationships with clients employees exhibitors and patrons
  • ability to define problems collect data and draw conclusions
  • interpret technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables

Job Duties

  • Plan organize and manage assigned events at NRG Park
  • work under the guidance of the Houston Texans Lead Event Manager to learn service delivery expectations and report challenges
  • report to the Senior Event Manager for all event related duties including administrative policy and operations
  • collaborate on Houston Texans Special Events ensuring accuracy timeliness and efficiency
  • prepare estimates logistical documents and post event notes for Texans and other assignments
  • be on site for Texans Special Events to ensure proper logistics and communication
  • communicate with clients to obtain technical requirements and event related information
  • staff and supervise medical personnel crowd control ushers ticket takers and police officers
  • build event diagrams using AutoCAD software
  • coordinate with contractors vendors and marketing for special requests and media entry
  • communicate settlement closeout documents to Finance promptly
  • participate in post event meetings providing feedback
  • maintain proper public relations with artists clients exhibitors patrons and staff
  • take directions and communicate in emergency situations
