Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Three to five years of responsible experience in event management in stadium, arena, convention center or public assembly setting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid drivers' license or ability to obtain one
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally and courteously
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English
  • Commitment to high standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality

Job Qualifications

  • Three to five years of increasingly responsible event management experience in stadium, arena, convention center or public assembly facility
  • Bachelor’s degree in facility management, hospitality management, business or related field
  • Experience working with concert promoters, sporting teams, and special event planners
  • Experience collaborating with production managers on lighting, AV, stagehand labor calls, load-ins and load-outs
  • Preferred experience with AutoCAD
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, word processing and internet
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one
  • Knowledge of event operational characteristics
  • Experience with collegiate or professional sports teams
  • Ability to identify facility user needs
  • Knowledge of crowd management and control
  • Understanding of customer service practices
  • Familiarity with facility use contracts
  • Knowledge of fire and public safety regulations
  • Knowledge of AV equipment in public assembly settings
  • Experience with budget preparation and control
  • Familiarity with entertainment, convention and public assembly terminology
  • Ability to work independently with judgment and initiative
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Advance, plan, service and supervise all events by communicating with event promoters, production managers and stadium departments including third-party contractors
  • Lead pre-event production meetings to communicate event information with all departments
  • Write production notes detailing every aspect of upcoming events and assist in determining staffing needs
  • Use interpersonal skills to direct, motivate, inform staff, resolve conflicts and communicate with clients and co-workers
  • Analyze challenges, identify alternative solutions, and implement recommendations to support organizational goals
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, co-workers, part-time staff, contractors, patrons, and public officials
  • Work a flexible schedule including nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Assist departments in preparing the building for events
  • Compile event expenses and staffing estimates to produce pre-event financial estimates
  • Provide detail and backup for all event expenses and assist with post-event settlements
  • Advise licensees on services available
  • Function as liaison between facility users and staff
  • Recommend and evaluate required event staffing levels
  • Coordinate communication with box office, booking and marketing teams
  • Manage communication during load in and load out
  • Resolve event-related complaints professionally
  • Communicate with municipal officials and event staff to ensure security and smooth operations
  • Coordinate service needs with Food and Beverage providers
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled
  • Perform other duties as assigned
