Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Three to five years of experience in event management in a stadium, arena, convention center, or public assembly facility setting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one
  • Knowledge of crowd management and control techniques
  • Knowledge of fire and public safety regulations
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse individuals

  • Experience working with concert promoters, sporting teams, and special event planners

Job Qualifications

  • Three to five years of increasingly responsible event management experience in stadium, arena, convention center, or public assembly facility settings
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in facility management, hospitality management, business, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience working with concert promoters, sporting teams, and special event meeting planners
  • Experience collaborating with production managers on lighting, AV, stagehand labor calls, and major event load-ins and load-outs
  • Preferred experience with AutoCAD
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, word processing, and internet use
  • Possession or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of event operations and crowd management techniques
  • Knowledge of customer service practices
  • Familiarity with facility use contracts and fire/public safety regulations
  • Knowledge of AV equipment and electronic systems in public assembly venues
  • Experience with budget preparation and control
  • Familiarity with entertainment/convention/public assembly terminology
  • Ability to work independently with good judgement and initiative
  • Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse people
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Advance, plan, service, and supervise all events using effective communication with event promoters, production managers, and stadium departments including third-party contractors
  • Lead pre-event production meetings to communicate important event information with all departments
  • Write production notes detailing every aspect of the upcoming event for all departments to understand the full scope of the event and assist in determining staffing needs
  • Use interpersonal skills to direct, motivate, inform staff, foster collaboration, recognize and resolve conflicts, and communicate clearly with clients and co-workers
  • Analyze challenges, identify alternative solutions, and implement recommendations in support of organizational objectives
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with lessees, clients, co-workers, part-time staff, contractors, patrons, and public officials
  • Work a flexible schedule including long nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Assist other departments in preparing the building to meet event requirements
  • Compile reimbursable event expenses and staffing estimates to produce pre-event estimates
  • Provide detailed information and backup for event expenses and assist with post-show event settlements
  • Advise licensees on services from independent contractors
  • Serve as a liaison between facility users and staff
  • Recommend and evaluate event staffing levels
  • Coordinate communication with box office, booking and marketing teams on event announcements and floor plans
  • Coordinate communication during load in and load out
  • Investigate and resolve event-related complaints professionally
  • Communicate with municipal officials to ensure security and smooth event operations
  • Coordinate service needs with Food and Beverage providers and make hospitality arrangements
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned
