Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years experience in event or operations management
  • 2 years experience in supervisory management
  • Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of ADA compliance
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to lead large event teams
  • Must be a creative problem solver
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Experience with large-scale events
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience managing events or operations in a large-scale event setting
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sport/Event Management, Hospitality, Training & Education, Business Administration, or equivalent education and experience
  • At least two years experience in a management position with full supervisory and decision-making responsibility
  • Passion for providing the highest quality service and prioritizing guest needs
  • Creative problem solver who can efficiently address guest concerns
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work event nights, weekends, and holidays
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Knowledge of ADA code and compliance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with large-scale events in stadium, concert, or multi-use facility with capacity of 10,000 seats or more
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and demographics
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently

Job Duties

  • Direct two hundred part-time event staff including ushers, ticket takers, back of house security, and parking employees to enhance guest and client experience
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive guest service program
  • Meet with client groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and/or events
  • Create AutoCAD plans for events
  • Consult exhibit managers, promoters, and athletic representatives on physical set-up needs and prepare work orders and cost estimates
  • Keep clients informed on status of deadline schedules including floor plan submissions and insurance requirements
  • Prepare cost estimates and monitor final billing
  • Maintain event-related reports and files
  • Ensure staff compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Guide clients in event preparation by interpreting contract provisions and policies
  • Maintain event operations equipment such as radios and metal detection wands
  • Make hospitality arrangements as needed
  • Create and distribute event information sheets
  • Prepare and approve payroll for event staff
  • Review emergency planning procedures with event staff
  • Provide leadership and guidance to event personnel
  • Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Develop collateral materials for employees and fans such as Accessibility Guides and Event Handbooks
  • Act as manager on duty when required
  • Create work schedules for event staff, medical, police, maintenance, and operations
  • Recommend and evaluate event staffing levels
  • Investigate and resolve event-related complaints
  • Assist in preparing the building for upcoming events
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed
