Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- 3-5 years of event management experience in similar settings
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one
- Strong communication skills in English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of crowd management and public safety regulations
- Experience with budgeting and contract familiarity
- Ability to lead and supervise staff effectively
Job Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in event management in arenas, stadiums, convention centers, or public assembly facilities
- Bachelor's degree in facility management, hospitality management, business, or related field
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one
- Knowledge of event operations, crowd management, customer service, and public safety regulations
- Ability to identify facility user needs
- Familiarity with principles of supervision, scheduling, training employees
- Experience with facility contracts and event budgeting
- Knowledge of A/V equipment and electronic systems in public assembly venues
- Familiarity with entertainment, convention, or public assembly terminology
- AutoCAD experience preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Advance, plan, service, and supervise all events
- Plan, direct and evaluate the work of subordinates
- Provide leadership and guidance for event personnel
- Analyze challenges, identify alternative solutions, and project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations
- Communicate clearly and concisely in English both orally and in writing
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with lessees, clients, co-workers, contractors, and public officials
- Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Assist in preparation of building for events
- Assist with pre-show event financial estimates and post-show settlements
- Advise lessees on available services from independent contractors
- Recruit, train, and supervise event and security staff
- Create work schedules and delegate assignments
- Coordinate communication between building staff and show staff during load in and load out
- Investigate and resolve event-related complaints professionally ensuring customer satisfaction
- Maintain event and security equipment
- Make hospitality arrangements
- Communicate with municipal officials to ensure security and smooth event operations
- Review emergency planning with event staff
- Create and distribute event data sheets
- Prepare and approve bi-weekly payroll
- Coordinate service needs with Food and Beverage provider
- Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled
- Perform other duties as assigned
