Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, business administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in event, convention services, or hospitality industry
  • Experience with convention centers, hotels, or multi-use venues essential
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
  • Customer service expertise with proven conflict resolution
  • Financial proficiency including forecasting, billing reconciliation, and budget tracking
  • Familiarity with venue management, banquet standards, and culinary terminology
  • Collaborative team player with ability to coordinate across departments and partners
  • Working knowledge of union labor environments
  • Sales minded approach with customer service focus
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledgeable in Momentus, AutoCAD, and database management
  • Experienced with Corrigo or similar work order/maintenance systems
  • Familiar with Coupa or compatible procurement platforms
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred
  • Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) is a plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar preferred
  • OSHA 10 Certification a plus
  • Physical ability to perform essential duties including talking, hearing, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling
  • Ability to work in office setting with noise level quiet to moderate
  • Must be available to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned MBCC events
  • Coordinate and conduct pre-planning site visits with clients and stakeholders
  • Facilitate pre-conference meetings and post-event debriefs
  • Lead clients in complying with event license agreements and venue policies
  • Provide exceptional client service and proactively resolve issues
  • Support sales teams with site inspections and seamless event turnover
  • Identify upsell opportunities to enhance event experiences and revenue
  • Collaborate with food and beverage providers to align operational needs
  • Maintain visible presence for timely issue resolution throughout events
  • Oversee the full client experience lifecycle from planning to wrap-up
  • Prepare and distribute event documentation ahead of event dates
  • Coordinate all venue services and contract partners
  • Ensure safety compliance and stakeholder satisfaction onsite
  • Conduct event walkthroughs pre, during, and post-event
  • Use Momentus and other software for event planning, communication, and maintenance requests
  • Generate and manage financial estimates and billing for events
  • Deliver white-glove service to clients, exhibitors, and attendees
  • Lead meetings for alignment, readiness, and improvement
  • Mentor Event Coordinators through coaching
  • Promote sustainability and green event practices
  • Collaborate with public safety for emergency preparedness
  • Perform other event-related duties as assigned
