Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, business administration, or related field preferred
  • minimum of 3-5 years of experience in event or convention services, hospitality, or related industry
  • experience in convention centers, hotels with meeting or ballroom space, or multi-use venues
  • strong understanding of hospitality-driven event operations, service standards, and client service models
  • strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • proven customer service expertise and conflict resolution abilities
  • financial proficiency in forecasting, billing reconciliation, and budget tracking
  • familiarity with event services, banquet standards, venue management, and culinary terminology
  • collaborative team player with ability to coordinate across departments and contract partners
  • working knowledge of union labor environments
  • sales-minded approach with customer service mindset
  • bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable

  • knowledge of Momentus (Ungerboeck), AutoCAD, and database management tools
  • experience with Corrigo or similar maintenance management systems
  • familiarity with Coupa or compatible procurement platforms
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred
  • Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) a plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certifications preferred
  • OSHA 10 certification a plus
  • other relevant certifications in sustainability, revenue management, digital event strategy, or venue and exhibition management highly valued

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned MBCC and MBCC Campus events
  • coordinate and conduct pre-planning site visits with clients and key stakeholders
  • facilitate pre-conference meetings and post-event debriefs to communicate event objectives, logistics, and feedback
  • lead clients in interpreting and complying with event license agreements, venue policies, and event best practices
  • provide exceptional service to clients by understanding needs and resolving issues
  • support sales teams with site inspections and ensure seamless sales to event manager transition
  • proactively identify upsell opportunities to elevate event experience and generate revenue
  • collaborate with food and beverage providers to align logistical and operational needs
  • maintain visible presence throughout event phases to ensure service and issue resolution
  • oversee full client experience lifecycle from sales turnover to post-event wrap-up
  • prepare and distribute event documentation prior to contracted dates
  • oversee coordination of venue services and contract partners
  • maintain on-site presence for smooth communication, execution, and safety compliance
  • conduct pre, during and post-event walkthroughs to ensure venue readiness
  • resolve operational challenges through collaboration
  • utilize planning and maintenance platforms for documentation and work order requests
  • coordinate AV/rigging service deposits and estimate labor costs
  • prepare and distribute daily event reports to stakeholders
  • manage event work orders, billing, and financial compliance
  • support revenue forecasting and procurement policies
  • deliver white-glove service to clients, exhibitors, and attendees
  • respond promptly to issues
  • collaborate with public safety and first responders for risk mitigation
  • maintain culinary and banquet service knowledge
  • champion sustainability initiatives and green event practices
  • ensure post-event debriefs and client surveys
  • lead internal and external meetings for operational readiness
  • mentor event coordinators
  • collaborate with food and beverage provider meetings
  • perform additional event-related responsibilities as assigned
