Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years relevant experience required
  • Experience with convention centers or similar venues essential
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Knowledge of event operations and management
  • Proficiency in relevant software and platforms

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable
  • Relevant certifications preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in event or convention services, hospitality, or related industry
  • Experience with convention centers, hotels with meeting or ballroom space, or multi-use venues
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and presentation
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated customer service expertise and conflict resolution abilities
  • Financial proficiency in forecasting, billing reconciliation, and budget tracking
  • Familiarity with event services, banquet standards, venue management, and room setups
  • Collaborative team player with ability to coordinate across departments and contract partners
  • Working knowledge of union labor environments
  • Sales minded approach to identify upsell opportunities while supporting budget alignment
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Momentus, AutoCAD, and database management tools
  • Experience with Corrigo or similar work order systems
  • Familiarity with procurement platforms such as Coupa
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred
  • Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) a plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification preferred
  • OSHA 10 Certification is a plus
  • Relevant continuing education in sustainability, revenue management, digital event strategy, or venue management

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary contact for MBCC and MBCC Campus events
  • Coordinate and conduct pre-planning site visits with clients and stakeholders
  • Facilitate pre-conference meetings and post-event debriefs
  • Ensure compliance with Event License Agreements, venue policies, and best practices
  • Provide exceptional client service by anticipating and resolving issues
  • Support sales teams with site inspections and event turnover
  • Identify upsell opportunities to enhance event experience and revenue
  • Collaborate with Food & Beverage providers to ensure alignment
  • Maintain visibility during events for timely issue resolution
  • Oversee full client experience from sales turnover to post-event wrap-up
  • Prepare and distribute event documentation prior to events
  • Coordinate all venue services and contract partners
  • Maintain onsite presence for communication, safety, and satisfaction
  • Conduct walkthroughs before, during, and after events
  • Resolve operational challenges in collaboration with teams
  • Utilize Momentus and Corrigo platforms for planning and maintenance
  • Coordinate labor costs and AV/rigging deposits
  • Distribute daily event reports to stakeholders
  • Use Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and AutoCAD for planning and reporting
  • Manage event work orders and billing with finance department
  • Communicate event-related charge changes for transparency
  • Support revenue forecasting and compliance with procurement policies
  • Deliver white-glove service to clients and attendees
  • Respond promptly to client and attendee issues
  • Collaborate with public safety on emergency preparedness
  • Maintain knowledge of culinary and banquet standards
  • Champion sustainability initiatives
  • Complete post-event debriefs and client follow-up
  • Lead internal and external meetings to ensure readiness
  • Mentor and coach Event Coordinators
  • Participate in Food & Beverage provider meetings
  • Perform other assigned event-related duties
