Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • One to three years of relevant event management experience
  • Strong communication and computer skills
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of crowd management, customer service, supervision and safety regulations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to lead and train staff
  • Familiarity with event budgeting and contracts

Job Qualifications

  • One to three years of event management experience in a stadium, arena, convention center or public assembly facility
  • Bachelor’s degree in facility management, hospitality management, business, or related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one
  • Knowledge of event operational characteristics
  • Ability to identify user needs of the facility
  • Knowledge of crowd management and control
  • Knowledge of customer service practices
  • Knowledge of supervision, scheduling, and training principles
  • Familiarity with facility use contracts
  • Knowledge of fire and public safety regulations
  • Knowledge of AV equipment and public assembly electronic systems
  • Experience with budget preparation and control
  • Familiarity with entertainment and public assembly terminology
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Advance, plan, service, and supervise all events
  • Plan, direct and evaluate the work of subordinates
  • Provide leadership and guidance for event personnel
  • Analyze challenges, identify alternative solutions, and project consequences of proposed actions
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in English
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with lessees, clients, co-workers, part-time staff, contractors, patrons, and municipal officials
  • Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Assist in preparation and completion of event financial estimates and settlements
  • Recruit, train, and supervise event and security staff
  • Create work schedules, delegate assignments, and review staff performance
  • Coordinate communication between building staff and show staff
  • Investigate and resolve event-related complaints
  • Maintain equipment for event and security staff
  • Make hospitality arrangements
  • Communicate with municipal officials to ensure event security
  • Review emergency plans with event staff
  • Prepare and approve bi-weekly payroll
  • Serve as Manager on Duty as scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned
