Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • One to three years of increasingly responsible experience in event management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one
  • Knowledge of event operations and crowd control
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lead and supervise staff
  • Customer service orientation

Job Qualifications

  • One to three years of increasingly responsible experience in event management in a stadium, arena, convention center, or public assembly setting
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college/university in facility management, hospitality management, business, or related field
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, word processing, and internet
  • Possession or ability to obtain a valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of event operations and crowd management
  • Ability to identify facility users' needs
  • Knowledge of customer service practices
  • Knowledge of supervision, scheduling, and training employees
  • Familiarity with facility use contracts
  • Knowledge of fire and public safety regulations
  • Familiarity with audio/visual equipment in public assembly settings
  • Experience with budget preparation and control
  • Familiarity with entertainment and convention terminology
  • Experience with AutoCAD preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Advance, plan, service, and supervise all events
  • Plan, direct and evaluate the work of subordinates
  • Provide leadership and guidance for event personnel
  • Analyze challenges, identify alternative solutions, and project consequences of proposed actions
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in English both orally and in writing
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with lessees, clients, staff, contractors, and officials
  • Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
