Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in event management or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD is a plus
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • Experience managing concerts, banquets, tradeshows, conferences and meetings preferred
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience in a public assembly facility with supervisory responsibility preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in facility management, hospitality management, business management or related field preferred
  • Clear and concise communication in English both orally and in writing required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including long days, late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Positive, professional and customer-focused attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and internet software
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of banquets, trade shows, meetings, parking lot and miscellaneous events assigned by Director of Events
  • Thoroughly describe the venue's services and coordination to clients
  • Advise clients on event logistics and facility usage
  • Hire, terminate, evaluate, schedule, train and develop approximately 150 Guest Services staff
  • Design event setup diagrams using AutoCAD for client approval
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure event setup meets specifications and safety standards
  • Communicate with food and beverage, chefs and catering on event needs
  • Create and distribute detailed Event Data Sheets prior to events
  • Update event estimates and complete final settlement
  • Problem solve, make decisions and delegate while maintaining professionalism
  • Serve as manager on duty as scheduled
  • Coordinate collection and documentation of employee information for part-time staff
  • Process and submit biweekly Events Department payroll
  • Complete duties with customer service focus
  • Perform other duties as assigned
