Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum three years experience in event management
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • Experience managing concerts, banquets, trade shows, conferences, and meetings preferred
  • Minimum of three years experience in a public assembly facility with supervisory responsibility preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in facility management, hospitality management, business management, or related field preferred
  • Clear and concise communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including long days, late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of banquets, trade shows, meetings, parking lot and smaller miscellaneous events assigned by Director of Events
  • Thoroughly describe the venue's services and coordinate these services to clients
  • Advise clients on event logistics and suggest effective facility uses for specific event types
  • Hire, terminate, evaluate, schedule, train and develop approximately 150 Guest Services staff
  • Design event setup diagrams in AutoCAD for client approval
  • Collaborate with operations department to ensure event setups meet specifications and adhere to fire and safety regulations
  • Communicate with Director of Food and Beverage, Chefs and Catering Manager on event needs
  • Create and distribute detailed Event Data Sheets for assigned events
  • Update event estimates and complete final settlements after events
  • Problem solve, delegate, and make decisions professionally under pressure
  • Serve as manager on duty as scheduled
  • Coordinate collection and documentation of employee information for part-time staff
  • Process and submit biweekly Events Department payroll
  • Maintain a customer service focus and teamwork ethic
  • Perform other duties as assigned
