Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One to two years management level experience coordinating events in multi-purpose facilities
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to pass background check
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to operate modern office equipment
- Ability to stand and walk long distances for more than half of the workday
- Ability to prepare and review event documentation
- Physical ability to stoop, bend, and lift
- Subject to adverse conditions during events
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One to two years management level experience coordinating events in multi-purpose facilities
- Knowledge of terminology used in convention and trade show industries
- Familiarity with audio-video equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Detail oriented
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Strong interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Assist tenants in planning logistical requirements for events
- Assist tenants in determining manpower requirements including security and crowd control
- Provide tenants with technical and physical data on facility utilities
- Act in a sales role for rental of Convention Center equipment and part-time personnel services
- Advise tenants on optimal space utilization
- Enforce catering exclusivity policies
- Act as Duty Manager during events
- Transmit event information to departments using Delphi Event Management System
- Obtain unused space from tenants for resale
- Review tenant contracts regarding space utilization and arrangements
- Coordinate with tenant’s private contractors
- Review and provide billing information for final settlement
- Secure required tenant insurance
- Prepare diagrams for special room setups
- Assist on special assignments as required
