Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of one year of event management experience in a hotel setting
  • strong organizational and planning skills
  • ability to communicate effectively with clients, sales teams, and hotel departments
  • proficiency with event management and banquet order coordination
  • flexibility to work non-standard hours including weekends and holidays
  • ability to multitask and handle pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • problem-solving mindset

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year experience in event management at a hotel of similar or larger size
  • strong understanding of hotel catering and client event planning
  • proficiency in coordinating logistics through the Banquet Event Order (BEO) process
  • excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of relevant job systems, products and processes
  • customer service orientation
  • ability to resolve conflicts and handle complaints diplomatically
  • strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • ability to build and maintain client relationships
  • flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Organize, plan and prioritize duties by developing plans and goals
  • timely communication to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person
  • create and maintain relationships with clients to set and meet client expectations and deliver on those expectations
  • demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, systems, and processes
  • resolve conflicts and negotiate with others while handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts
  • selling and influencing both internal and external clients
  • make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating the issues and determine the best solution
  • ensure high-quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand the guest needs, providing direction and guidance, feedback and individual coaching when needed
  • participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary
  • perform other duties as necessary based on business needs
