The DoubleTree by Hilton Abilene Downtown Convention Center is a premier hospitality establishment that opened its doors in 2023, offering modern accommodations with 200 guestrooms and an extensive convention space totaling 23,021 square feet. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience in hotel event management
  • Knowledge of hotel catering and event logistics
  • Ability to multitask and manage simultaneous events
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule to meet event needs
  • Proficiency with event planning software and systems

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in event management at a hotel of similar or larger size
  • Strong understanding of hotel catering and client event planning
  • Proficiency in coordinating logistics through the Banquet Event Order (BEO) process
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours when required
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate effectively

Job Duties

  • Organize, plan and prioritize duties by developing plans and goals
  • Timely communication to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person
  • Create and maintain relationships with clients to set and meet client expectations and deliver on those expectations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, systems, and processes
  • Resolve conflicts and negotiate with others while handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts
  • Sell and influence both internal and external clients
  • Make decisions and solve problems by analyzing and evaluating the issues and determine the best solution
