Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Thorough knowledge of event planning and public relations
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Experience in budget management and vendor contracting
  • Ability to manage events ranging from small to large-scale gatherings
  • Experience with virtual event technology preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • Thorough knowledge of event planning principles and practices
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse groups
  • Knowledge of budget management and donor stewardship
  • Ability to work effectively with VIPs, donors, and government officials
  • Experience with crowd management and safety protocols
  • Proficiency in event-related technology including virtual meeting platforms preferred

Job Duties

  • Lead research conference planning, project management, and production
  • Oversee and execute event-specific tasks including scheduling, publicity, contracting vendors, procuring supplies, and coordinating with speakers
  • Manage event logistics including budget preparation, staffing, travel arrangements, and materials preparation
  • Contribute to and participate in long-range event planning
  • Develop and maintain guest lists ensuring accurate attendee information
  • Ensure timely processing of event-related expenses and budget reconciliation
  • Mentor and oversee less experienced event staff
