Job Description
Churchill Downs Racetrack ("CDRT") is renowned as the world's most legendary racetrack and has been the iconic home of The Kentucky Derby since 1875, making it the longest continually held annual sporting event in the United States. Situated in Louisville, Kentucky, CDRT operates a sprawling 175-acre facility featuring a one-mile dirt track, a 7/8-mile turf track, stabling areas, and seating capacity for approximately 60,000 guests. Job Requirements
- prior experience managing multiple event spaces and large groups
- ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to perform light physical work including extensive walking
- strong communication and organizational skills
- ability to handle challenging situations in a positive manner
- must be people oriented and detail focused
- ability to multi-task and build professional relationships
- prior interaction with public or horse racing knowledge preferred
Job Qualifications
- bachelor's degree preferred
- prior experience overseeing multiple event spaces and groups
- demonstrated experience dealing with high level clients including dignitaries, celebrities, premium ticket holders
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software
- strong organizational skills
- exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- ability to thrive in an ever-changing environment
- customer service minded
- experience in entertainment or sporting facilities preferred
Job Duties
- working cross-departmentally to understand event needs and facility policies
- establishing and maintaining relationships with clients and vendors
- creating custom banquet event orders detailing facility needs, food and beverage packages, event timeline, staffing needs
- creating custom diagrams for approximately 35 event rooms
- assisting team members on event days
- responding to day-of requests promptly
- promoting and providing exceptional customer service
