Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, public relations, marketing, hospitality management, or a museum-related field or eight years of successful experience in a leadership sales and event role
- two to five years of successful sales and customer service experience
- proficiency in Microsoft Outlook for email and calendar functions
- proficiency in Microsoft Word for document creation and communication
- proficiency in Microsoft Excel for basic worksheet creation and maintenance
- effective management and organizational skills
- outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to interact at all organizational levels
- experience in planning, organizing work, and achieving results on schedule and budget
- excellent written and oral presentation and communication skills
- proven ability as a self-starter capable of multitasking and networking
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- willingness and ability to work regularly and comply with attendance rules
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Hire, train and develop event staff
- manage event staff to ensure quality operations and fiscal responsibilities
- create and develop birthday party events
- work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- ensure event activities comply with museum policies and governmental regulations
- coordinate the museum's yearly fundraiser night at the museum
- collaborate with reservations, catering and operations for event setup
- maintain communication standards between clients and staff
- engage in re-booking repeat business and foster long-term client relationships
- participate in industry-related organizations
- utilize strong sales and negotiation techniques
- provide innovative event setups and decor
- work closely with catering department to execute events
- direct and evaluate overall events
- sell and manage audio/visual and rental equipment as profit centers
- coordinate with outside vendors for event satisfaction
- enforce departmental policies and procedures
- manage all administrative duties
- forecast and analyze work processes and personnel management
- maintain budget and visitor feedback reports
- manage museum calendars and communications
- meet or exceed planned budgets and promote sales
- coordinate supervision and operational oversight for events
- respond promptly to guest inquiries
- proactively address concerns
- uphold high-quality standards for events
- manage budgeting of revenue and expenses
- collect deposits and payments timely
- comply with attendance rules
- perform other duties as assigned by Senior Director of Operations and Events
