Job Requirements
- Four-year college degree preferred
- At least two years of experience in event planning or management
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods
- Must be able to carry full service tray comfortably
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be committed to outstanding guest service and hospitality
Job Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of event planning
- Considerable working knowledge of other major areas in hotel and ability to integrate and communicate effectively
- Competent with Windows-based computers and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with industry standard event software
- Demonstrated management skills
- Enthusiasm for 21c Museum Hotels culture
- Ability to pass a background check
Job Duties
- Ownership of all events from planning to execution with guidance from Director of Food and Beverage
- Work directly with clients to plan event details including menus set-ups floorplans AV needs and timelines
- Create innovative set-ups menus and functions for groups
- Ensure successful events exceeding client needs and company profitability guidelines
- Plan and execute all 21c in-house events and assist in off-site events as needed
- Coordinate with Event Sales Manager and Executive Chef to ensure profitable bookings
- Lead and manage Event Captains and event servers and bartenders
