Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of events related experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work with a wide range of clientele from student groups to professional event planners
  • Ability to manage teams of employees in event execution
  • Monday - Friday availability
  • Weekend and nights required as needed with special events

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of events related experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work with a wide range of clientele from student groups to professional event planners
  • Ability to manage teams of employees in event execution
  • Preferred five years of event experience
  • Preferred two years of event coordinating experience
  • Preferred three years of customer service experience

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and customer support in planning and execution of UCEN event facilities
  • Meet with clients and facility contacts to schedule space, equipment, and staff
  • Complete proper paperwork and ensure facility expectations are maintained
  • Arrange rental equipment for events when necessary
  • Work with clients throughout event planning including early-stage event conception
  • Confirm timelines, security expectations, and special requests
  • Design event diagrams and CAD drawings to meet client specifications
  • Collaborate with sponsors and sponsoring agencies to ensure successful events
  • Develop, manage, and maintain facility and event calendars for multiple venues
  • Communicate pertinent information to management, coordinators, crews, and student leaders
  • Represent the department on committees and task forces
  • Oversee staff delivering setup and removal of event equipment
  • Provide consistent training and feedback to event staff
  • Develop and maintain training curriculum, manuals, and job skill tests
  • Coordinate new student employee training each semester
  • Assist with concessions, expressive activities, and risk review for events
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
