Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in event management or hospitality preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive and detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to use digital sales systems
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the company

Job Qualifications

  • Event manager or comparable experience in a full-service hotel preferred
  • Marriott experience a plus
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficient in time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of event management software and hotel operations
  • Flexible availability including nights and weekends

Job Duties

  • Provide the highest levels of customer service to internal partners and external clients at all times
  • Effectively and efficiently monitor and manage all aspects of the pre-event, event, and post-event details
  • Track, detail, and communicate particulars of each assigned event and group including room blocks, meeting space, special concessions, group history, cut-off and other key dates, contract clauses, group resumes, event orders, and billing details
  • Deliver a successful experience for the planner and attendees with the goal of garnering both repeat and referral business
  • Collaborate with entire hotel operations in a unified way fostering teamwork and embodying a flexible, creative, and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Respond in a quick, timely, and professional manner to internal partners and external clients delivering clear and concise communication
  • Demonstrate excellent time management, self-motivation, and proactive planning with a keen focus on detail
  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of hotel beverage and food products, pricing, presentation, function space, audio visual, and other event-related details
  • Learn and use digital sales systems and understand the hotel's revenue strategies including product pricing and budgeted goals
  • Prepare for and participate in all necessary internal meetings, conference calls, reporting, planning, training, and other communications
  • Perform other duties as required
