Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Five years of events related experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to work with a wide range of clientele, from student groups to professional event planners
  • Ability to manage teams of employees in the execution of events
  • Monday - Friday availability
  • Ability to work weekends and nights as needed with special events

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership and customer support in planning and execution of UCEN event facilities
  • Meet with clients and facility contacts to schedule space, equipment, and staff
  • Arrange rental equipment for events requiring it
  • Ensure facility expectations are met and proper paperwork is completed
  • Work closely with clients from event conception to execution to understand needs and confirm timelines
  • Design event diagrams or CAD drawings to meet client expectations
  • Communicate with sponsors and sponsoring agencies to plan details of meetings and events
  • Develop, manage, and maintain facility and event calendars for university venues
  • Distribute calendars to various constituencies regularly
  • Represent the department on university-wide committees and task forces
  • Oversee staff responsible for event equipment setup, execution, and removal
  • Provide consistent staff training and feedback
  • Develop and maintain training curriculum, manuals, and job skill tests
  • Coordinate new student employee training each semester
  • Assist with concessions, expressive activity events, and risk review for university events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
