Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing catering events in a high volume, luxury food and beverage environment
  • Strong knowledge of food and industry trends
  • ServSafe certification recommended
  • Superior communication and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent computer skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task and manage details
  • Ability to meet client needs in a proactive manner

Job Duties

  • Develops and implements service standards for small and large special events
  • Plans menus, layout, decor, and booking entertainment for catered events
  • Works closely with event planners to ensure client expectations are met
  • Provides recommendation and guidance based on experience and trends in the industry to enhance each event
  • Manages the event budget from the initial stage and provides after event summary and cost
  • Collaborates and supports Director of Catering Services and Executive Chef in planning events
  • Identifies client/guest needs and interacts in a positive, proactive manner
  • Oversees the maintenance of adequate equipment, product, and decoration inventories
  • Maintains accurate tracking and billing systems for catered events
  • Disseminates information to all concerned department heads and staff members through preparation and distribution of detailed function sheets
  • Oversees sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
  • Performs other duties as assigned
