Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years in event management or related professional area
  • OR bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • 1 year of experience in event management or related professional area
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in event management software
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Availability to work full time at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3 years of event management or related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field with 1 year of event management or related experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools
  • Ability to multitask and coordinate multiple events simultaneously
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Job Duties

  • Manages the execution of all aspects of events including planning, day to day coordination and exit strategies
  • Serves as meeting planning advocate and liaison to all operational departments
  • Assists with coordination of all convention group plans and catering needs with required departments
  • Verifies on-site delivery of hotel products and services according to conference group plans
  • Utilizes software for generation of necessary program documents such as pass on reports, banquet event orders and post-convention reports
  • Advises clients on current status of events and coordinates changes as needed
  • Attends planning meetings, welcome receptions, tie-down meetings, and internal meetings related to security, parking, or production
  • Proactively resolves potential meeting or room set issues
  • Utilizes available resources to meet client requests or resolve client issues
  • Verifies lighting, temperature, AV equipment, and room setups meet client expectations
  • Delivers excellent customer service throughout the customer experience
  • Coordinates and communicates event details verbally and in writing
  • Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints
  • Uses personal judgment and expertise to enhance client experience
  • Stays available to solve problems and suggest alternatives
  • Works to continually improve customer service by integrating feedback into action plans
