Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum one year full-time equivalent experience in event management
  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience
  • Minimum one year of administrative experience including budget preparation and monitoring
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to work non-standard hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must pass background check
  • Must comply with City of Hampton's substance abuse policy

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of one year full-time event management experience
  • At least one year of supervisory experience
  • One year of administrative experience including budget management
  • Valid motor vehicle operator's license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions

Job Duties

  • Coordinate client needs with building staff to ensure proper setup and smooth operation of events
  • Organize and manage all aspects of event coordination including logistics, scheduling, and vendor communications
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and city policies
  • Prepare and monitor event budgets and related administrative tasks
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments and external customers to fulfill event requirements
  • Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations as needed
  • Serve as essential personnel during city emergencies when directed
