Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Valid and current security guard license or equivalent as required in the District of Columbia and Maryland
  • General knowledge of computer operation, Microsoft programs and Office 365
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills
  • Ability to work in high pressured, fast paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn internal systems
  • Ability to solve problems effectively

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Sports Management, or related areas
  • Equivalent work experience
  • General knowledge of computer operation, Microsoft programs and Office 365
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong client and customer relations skills
  • Good people management and supervisory skills
  • Ability to work and make decisions in a high paced, high pressure environment
  • Able to work in a team setting
  • Good problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Maintain a valid and current security guard license or its equivalent as required in the District of Columbia and Maryland
  • Teach and enforce operating standards
  • Serve as a principal source of information on rules and procedures governing security and other event management operations
  • Communicate with and brief event staff
  • Manage supervisors and staff responsible for event coordination activities
  • Coordinate details of events such as sporting events, concerts, conferences, trade shows and other various events
  • Define company brand through events
  • Ensure staff is adequately prepared for event
  • Prepare paperwork, uniforms and equipment needed for event
  • Help managers schedule events
  • Be present during the event and handle issues and problems as they arise before, during and after an event
  • Use event vehicles when provided for events subject to training
  • Oversee care and return of all issued equipment
  • Check that all staff are wearing appropriate uniforms
  • Walk significant distances including up and down stairs as needed to roam throughout the venue
  • Work necessary hours to complete job preparation plus event hours
  • Assist with hiring and training of staff
  • Perform other assigned tasks
