Job Requirements

  • associate's degree or equivalent combination of experience such as two years full-time experience in business or event/catering planning and execution or one year of college credits and one year full-time experience
  • excellent oral and written communication skills
  • strong customer service skills

  • strong organizational and planning skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • proficiency in computers including events management software and Microsoft Office
  • ability to carry at least 50 pounds
  • availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • assist the Director of Facilities Rentals in creating a positive experience for facility users
  • collaborate with college departments and clients on all aspects of their event
  • assist with event set-up coordination and scheduling
  • prepare and maintain event documents
  • gather information about client objectives
  • act as liaison between clients and food services
  • create schedules for event staff
  • communicate with vendors and suppliers
  • be present during events to liaise with organizers
  • collaborate with internal departments for audio/visual support
  • handle problems to ensure successful events
  • assist in preparation of permits and collection of fees
  • collaborate with food services, cleaning crews, and other support workers
  • ensure compliance with insurance, health, and safety standards
  • attend permit committee meetings and distribute meeting minutes
  • perform other duties as assigned
