The Indianapolis Yacht Club INC is a prestigious nonprofit boating and social club located on Geist Reservoir in Greater Indianapolis. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, event planning, hospitality, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience in event coordination, membership management, or related field
  • Proven experience managing event logistics and budgets
  • Strong vendor relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to develop and implement membership growth strategies
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and event management platforms
  • Ability to multitask and manage deadlines effectively
  • Demonstrated commitment to mission-driven, community-focused work
  • Experience with diverse and inclusive programming

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, event planning, hospitality, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years experience in event coordination, membership management, or related field
  • Proven ability to manage logistics, budgets, and vendor relationships
  • Strong communication, customer service, and sales skills
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, donor databases, and event platforms

  • Comfortable juggling multiple priorities and deadlines

Job Duties

  • Plan and execute member events, external rentals, fundraisers, community programs, member mixers, and partner receptions
  • Manage venue rental inquiries, contracts, scheduling, and logistics
  • Coordinate catering and bar packages ensuring compliance with club policies and regulations
  • Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate cost-effective agreements
  • Track event budgets and monitor expenses
  • Serve as primary contact for members, donors, and community partners
  • Develop and implement membership attraction, onboarding, and retention strategies
  • Promote and sell memberships via outreach, events, and marketing
  • Organize member-exclusive programs, benefits, and recognition initiatives
  • Maintain accurate membership records and analyze data for growth
  • Create and manage weekly member communications and social media updates
  • Partner with Social Committee, catering partner, and Board to align events and membership efforts
  • Support fundraising campaigns and membership/event referrals
  • Prepare monthly reports on event performance, rental revenue, and membership metrics
