Folds of Honor Foundation is a respected nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the families of America’s fallen or disabled military service members and first responders through educational scholarships. Since its inception in 2007 by Lt Col Dan Rooney, a fighter pilot with the Oklahoma Air National Guard, the foundation has been unwavering in its mission to meet sacrifice with hope. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3-5+ years of event planning experience
- Ability to work well and resolve issues with management, staff, clients, and vendors
- Ability to operate office equipment and use software like Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams
- Effective verbal and written communication in English
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to perform as a team collaborator
- Ability to communicate effectively across teams and multiple projects
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to change
- Project management experience preferred
- Mobility to travel in and around office and ability to travel as needed
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups
- Ability to calculate figures and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts
- Ability to understand and carry out instructions
- Ability to solve problems involving multiple variables
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3-5+ years of event planning experience
- Previous event planning experience
- Ability to work well and resolve issues with all levels of internal management, staff, clients, and vendors
- Proficiency in office equipment and software including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and web-based platforms
- Effective English communication skills both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and deadline driven
- Ability to collaborate as a team member
- Effective communication across teams and multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to change
- Project management experience preferred
Job Duties
- Work as part of a team to implement Event Management System (OneCause) effectively across the Foundation working collaboratively across departments
- Manage the Event Management System platform for Folds of Honor Foundation including event setup, ongoing updates, tracking, and reporting to organizers
- Setup and maintain ongoing trainings for event organizers including OneCause tutorials and best practices
- Build and maintain event best practices and sharing
- Project lead for national event calendar including inputting all events and managing updates
- Respond promptly to all inquiries including emails and phone calls
- Complete needs assessments for event requests and identify priority support
- Maintain working relationships with chapters, vendors, and venues
- Coordinate event entertainment such as music, performers, and guest speakers
- Manage event budgets and specifications attentively
- Oversee event day operations including problem-solving, guest welcoming, directing set-up, staff communication, vendor organization, and event take-down
- Collaborate with marketing team to create advertisements for events
- Anticipate and plan for possible different scenarios
- Communicate event ideas and plans effectively to clients and vendors
- Manage backend event coordination across the Foundation
- Attend events as needed and approved by management
- Perform other duties as assigned
